First stop!

Well, here I am in England, enjoying my third sunny but crisp day. Bocken is as beautiful as ever, with its park-like gardens, graceful trees and abounding wildlife - well, rabbits, squirrels, and pigeons so big that I thought they were pheasants, except that they were right up the top of the copper beech tree. And of course, there's Pudding and the horses!

Saturday in Chiswick was great, strolling down the High Road and flitting in and out of shops. All the Christmas tree sellers are out doing a roaring trade, and I even discovered that Brussels Sprouts grow on stalks! Bizarre but true - I never knew that.

Tomorrow Hilary and I are off to Chiswick again before we zip into central London for some serious shopping. Could be a challenge but the list hasn't started shrinking yet. A domani....
